Afternoons 3:00 – 7:00pm
Interests: Family time tops the list, I work alot so just being with Jeff, Kaitlyn and Abbey and our little “fur family” Bentleigh, Bella and Kitty is what I crave most. I love to cook, and I enjoy attempting to make things I see on Pinterest.
What’s the one food you could eat everyday: Fajitas
Favorite Vacation Spot: The Beach
Favorite Movies: Gone With The Wind, Steel Magnolias, Sweet Home Alabama, The Help, and any movie based on one of Nicholas Sparks novels.
What shows do you DVR: Scandal, Dance Moms, Grey’s Anatomy, Dancing With The Stars, American Idol, The Pioneer Woman, Barefoot Contessa, pretty much all Food Network cooking shows.
What’s the one thing you do that drives your husband crazy: I decorate for Christmas the day after Halloween. My philosophy is that when the witches come down, the Santa’s go up. Deal with it. And yes, I still celebrate Thanksgiving. I just like being able to enjoy the decorations for more than a month.
Favorite Holiday: Christmas of course! ( see above)
How would your kids describe your parenting style: I hope they’d say that I was their biggest fan first, and that I was strict for good reasons. My kids are my world. I’m so proud of both of them. They are both beautiful, smart, and talented but the trait I love most is that they are both so compassionate. That is the one thing I hope they share with the world.
Describe yourself in three words: Classy, Sassy and a little Smart A**y Yeah, I know that’s more than three words but my friends made me a birthday cake with that on it and it fits me!
Heroes: Jesus, my husband Jeff ( he’s an amazing Dad and my best friend), and our military.
Craziest Radio Fan Encounter: Let’s just say it ended with a restraining order and leave it at that.
Would Love To Meet: Adele, Paula Deen and the Stars of Duck Dynasty. How’s that for a mixture?
What do you like to do when you have free time: I adore the website Pinterest. My husband says I’m headed to Pinterehab because I’m on the site so much. I also love to sit outside on the porch swing that was given to me by my husbands grandmother and light my firepit and just be still.
Favorite Artists: I have to admit, I love the 80′s. I grew up on awesome hair bands like Van Halen, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and Poison. But I do like today’s artists too. I love Adele, Bruno Mars, Pink and Katy Perry. However, when we host the Look Back Weekends on The Mix with songs of the 70′s I get a little giddy! I love me some Bee Gees!
What is your biggest fear: This makes my eyes water just typing this. My biggest fear would have to be dying before my children are grown. I was 39 when my Mom died and it was awful. I can’t imagine my children growing up without me. And I know I am going to be the most awesome Nana on the planet when the time comes. Later…. much… much…later. Are you listening kids?
What do you want to be remembered for: Good stuff of course. First, that I was a good mom, and that I prepared them to be good hearted, compassionate, strong women of faith who make a difference in this world. Second, that I was a good friend. And thirdly, I hope that I am remembered for my work with The Make A Wish Foundation. Raising money is one thing, but truly having a heart for the mission of Make A Wish is what I hope people remember me for.
One final question… What is your definition of happiness: It took me a long time to figure that out. My definition of happiness is waking up and being totally content with your life, the people in it and the things you have. I think once I finally quit chasing what I thought I needed based on what others had, I became a better person. That’s thanks to my faith. It’s all about Jesus. End of story.
